The Midwest Express 70s lead off a successful week of tournament play by capturing the overall title in the 70s division of the Midwest Championships and earning a berth in the Tournament of Champions, in Florida, in February 2018.
The Express roared through pool play and bracket competition with a perfect 5-0 record enroute to the title. In the championship game, the 70s clinched with a 17-10 victory over U.S. Pallet out of St. Louis.
Two NSS players were named to the All Tournament Team: Duane Carolus and Ed Rastovski.
Other current or former NSS players on the squad, in addition to Duane and Ed, were Bob Kubat, Ed Tworek, and Rick Simodynes.
Another championship in the books!
The Midwest Express 70s kicked off the 2017 season by capturing the Cow Town Classic championship under rainy and cool conditions.
The Express posted a 3-1 record in the rain shortened event and went undefeated in bracket play to claim the title. They avenged their only loss by eliminating U.S. Pallet out of St. Louis to hoist the trophy at the end of the tourney.
